Construction Materials

Remodeling, cleaning out the garage, too much clutter?

The Delaware ReStore accepts donations and re-sells new and reusable good-condition building materials at deeply discounted prices. Revenues from the ReStore cover all of our administrative costs and helps fund Habitat home construction.

Donating good condition building materials to the Delaware ReStore is not only tax-deductible but it is also environmentally responsible. One of the goals of the Habitat ReStore is to keep reusable building materials from going to our local landfills.

Donations are accepted during all business hours, Monday through Saturday 8am to 6pm and Wednesdays open late till 8pm. You may want to call ahead to make certain that your donation will be accepted. Pick-ups of large donations can be arranged by calling the ReStore at 740-363-9950 x 227

Below is a list of many of the types of items that the Delaware ReStore accepts and sells

  • Kitchen and Bathroom Cabinets
  • Doors
  • Hardware (nails, bolts, hinges, etc)
  • Sinks, Bathtubs and Showers
  • Light fixtures
  • Newer appliances (in excellent working condition)
  • Newer toilets
  • Tools (hand tools, power tools, lawn and garden)
  • Windows (newer and double-paned)
  • Flooring
  • Lumber (full length and nail-free)

 

Memorials, Honorariums, and Holiday Gifts

DCHFH accepts gifts in honor of a special group or person in your life. Perfect for any occasion–weddings, birthdays, or holidays! DCHFH will send an acknowledgement card to the individuals or families letting them know of your generosity for each honorarium. Memorial gifts made to Habitat in memory of loved ones are a long-lasting tribute. Please allow time for processing and mailing of note cards.

 

Cars for Homes

Since 1989 DCHFH has benefited from community support from volunteers and generous donors. Property donation is another means to create more affordable homeownership opportunities. DCHFH is always seeking affordable and buildable lots in Delaware County. We’re not limited to single family structures; we are interested in making an impact with multi-unit projects as well.

Employee giving campaigns, company matching grants, and corporate community involvement programs are all excellent ways to help us build more houses without leaving your desk! Some companies even give donations based on the hours you’re already volunteering. Contact your human resource department for more information and the appropriate paperwork.

You can simultaneously achieve financial, personal and charitable goals by utilizing the appropriate giving tool and professional counsel. Your legacy gift will help us continue the fight against poverty housing beyond your lifetime.
