See Us in Action
Our Youth United team recently completed its first completely youth-funded and built Habitat home for
Edna & Carlos Lopez, at 137 S. Liberty St., Delaware. Working in partnership with Liberty Presbyterian
Church and Delaware Area Career Center, Youth United members and other local volunteers worked in shifts to
construct a three-bedroom home!
Another annual event is Youth United’s Shack City held each Fall to heighten awareness of the plight of the homeless. Participants create makeshift shelters made from cardboard boxes and tape, and sleep outside for
the night. All monies collected are used to help build Youth United/Habitat homes with local partner families.
