Delaware County Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry dedicated to eliminating substandard housing and homelessness in Delaware County, Ohio. We want to make adequate, affordable shelter a matter of conscience and action. Delaware County Habitat for Humanity invites people from all faiths and walks of life to work together in partnership, building houses with families in need.
Habitat homeownership is based on the:
1. NEED for housing
2. ABILITY to repay a mortgage
3. WILLINGNESS to work in partnership with Delaware County Habitat for Humanity
Habitat homeowner guidelines:
1. Currently be living in substandard housing, such as leaking roof, overcrowded conditions, unsafe neighborhood, cost burden (rent is greater than 30% of gross income), etc.
2. Have a satisfactory credit history.
3. Debt to income ratio should be reasonable.
4. Have a steady income, within 30 – 50% of the median income for our area:

Habitat’s Family Selection Committee meets the second Monday of every month to review applications. Documentation required for the application review includes: a copy of last year’s income tax return, two consecutive pay stubs from your employer, your current income/sources; your current debt(s); names/addresses/phone numbers for your current and former employer; current and former landlord; and contact information to verify public assistance (if applicable).
